Research and Inspiration

In order to create a strong project, the initial research is extremely important in creating the basis for the content itself. This includes researching, observing, colecting, studying and exploring the topic and theme of the project; this will ensure that there is a deep understanding of the subject and will help give more direction towards ideas and concepts. There are many forms of initial research that can be gathered that will strongly inform the next stage of development. General information on the subject and artists and designers that explore a similar subject matter is a good way to begin gathering research (although it is a good idea to take inspiration from artist's throughtout the project). Listing as many ideas on the subject as possible can give a better understanding of the type of information that needs to be gathered first. For example, sketches on the strongest ideas can be recorded and developed into ideas for content later in the project.

Throughtout the project, it is important to annotate and evaluate stages in development and of drawing and media experimentation, this is also important in the development of a "personal" visual vocabulary. This also helps reflect on what has been effective in relation to the subject. It helps to link stages of the project together to give it more flow. This means that a clearer direction of the content is more visible, which will ensure a strong project.
