The RVJ

The RVJ is where the ideas and content of a project are recorded and developed.

 Draw.Work by Hand

The most useful thing about working like this is the ability to draw and work by hand, and this is important at every stage of the project. When initially thinking of ideas, sketching them out and building from them gives a clearer understanding of whether it could have any direction or not. This is visual communications and it importnat to be able to visualise ideas. In the experimental/developmental stage, altering work and playing around with the subject opens up options on where to take the project and once again, can help one visualise the work better. It's also a good idea to try working with a variety of materials and techniques to develop skills and ideas and to broaden possible directions. This could help create a strong project with a lot of visual imformation.

Cultivate Reflective Practice

Having the development of the project to be able to look back at is extremely useful to be able to reflect on the project to identify what's strong and what's not, what has potential to be developed and what has worked so far. Doing this regulary will also help to keep the direction of the project, and it's content, in mind. Reflecting on work will give the chance to be able to identify and learn from mistakes well. Experimentation should have taken place previously, which means that there will be some strong and weak studies. Identifying what went wrong with weaker studies will ensure that these mistakes aren't repeated. This will also mean that it will be easier to identify stronger points in other studies that could be developed throughout the project.
